For companies who will need CMMC Certification NIST has just released the assessment guide for NIST SP 800-172.

NIST ASSESSMENT GUIDE

CMMC 2.0 updated its levels and became more closely aligned with NIST 800-171. Formerly level 3, now Level 2 CMMC Certification requires a full implementation of 800-171. NIST 800-171A provides test procedures and implementation guidance for 800-171.

Formerly Level 4 and 5, now Level 3 CMMC Certifcation, now requires 800-171 and 172A implementation. 800-172 are enhanced controls – add-ons, if you will, to 800-171.

These enhancements are just that, 𝘦𝘯𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴. NIST SP 800-172/172A are enhancements to NIST SP 800-171/171A.
